Miranda Cosgrove has been an influencer since long before it was cool. In her turn as teen Internet sensation Carly Shay on Nickelodeon's "iCarly" from 2007 to 2012, she practically predicted the future in terms of what creator culture could look like. Instagram wasn't even around yet, but there was Carly, hosting a hit web show and navigating the success that came with it. 

In her latest movie, "Mother of the Bride," Cosgrove is back at it — this time, as budding influencer Emma who's planning a wedding at a Thai resort as a part of her first big brand deal. The film sees Cosgrove starring alongside Brooke Shields (who plays her mother, Lana) as they try to navigate the wedding planning process. . . and the hurdles in their relationship that come along with it. 

Not only do Cosgrove and her on-screen characters (both in "iCarly" and "MOTB") share the same bubbly personality, but they've also got the same ability to influence. She's got nearly 10 million Instagram followers, was tapped to be a Neutrogena brand ambassador back in 2012, and has been known to serve up headline-worthy fashion and beauty looks for the decade-and-a-half Another thing that Miranda and Emma have in common is their jet-setting lifestyles (but not, Cosgrove assures me when we speak, their relationships with their mothers). Cosgrove is constantly traveling and has mastered the art of looking (and feeling) her best while doing it. Here, she shares her must-have products — which are by her side whether she's on a 15-hour flight to Thailand or firmly planted on the ground.

"I travel so much and my lips get so dry, so I always have some Aquaphor ($15) on hand," Cosgrove tells PS. "Slugging with it isn't really for me — I'm not necessarily putting it all over my face because I don't like how that feels — but I'm re-applying it to my lips all the time."

At $6 a tube (or $18 for a super-sized jar), this do-it-all hydrator deserves a spot in everyone's routine — in-flight or otherwise.

Miranda Cosgrove’s Investment Must Have

In lieu of spritzing herself with fragrance, Cosgrove opts to scent herself with a hair oil. "It stays on and smells so good all day, and I feel like [using scent in this way] allows me to get a whiff of it, too — not just the people around me," she says. 

She's got a number of different oils in her arsenal (and the fact that they make her hair feel as good as it smells is a bonus that she loves), but her current go-to is the Shu Umera Essence Absolu Hair Oil ($72). It's made with Japanese red camellia oil, which is rich in vitamins and antioxidants that nourish and hydrate hair, enhance shine, and protect against heat damage. Plus, as Cosgrove says, "It smells amazing."

"When I fly, I sleep — I'll often be asleep before the plane even takes off," says Cosgrove. "But when I wake up, my hair's a wreck, so I've always got a good brush in my bag." 

She's a fan of this fancy Mason Pearson Detangler All-Nylon Hair Brush ($150), which stylists regularly say is one of the best that money can buy. The brand has been around since 1885 and has developed a cult following despite the hefty price tags on its products. Working with Shields — whose eyebrows are arguably among the most iconic of all time — made Cosgrove want to step up her own brow routine. "I always fill in my brows, and a good brow pencil is a must-have," she says. The Benefit Cosmetics Precisely Eyebrow Pencil ($26) is her current go-to and the one makeup product she's always has, both on her face and in her bag, at all times.

Miranda Cosgrove’s Morning Routine Must Have

When it comes to skin care, Cosgrove keeps her routine fairly simple. Instead of a 12-step regimen, she swears by just two very effective products every morning to keep her skin hydrated, healthy, and irritation-free.

First, she washes her face with a Kate Sommerville cleanser, then follows things up with Tatcha Water Cream ($72). She also keeps it in her car to re-up throughout the day and brings it with her on planes to combat the dry skin that comes with flying.
